Science
At Abersychan School, our Science curriculum is designed to ignite curiosity and develop students who are analytical, informed and environmentally conscious. We empower students to explore how scientific discovery drives innovation, shapes society and influences our planet.
In Key Stage 3, students investigate the core disciplines of Biology, Chemistry and Physics, gaining insight into living systems, matter, energy and the forces that govern the natural world. This knowledge equips them to tackle future challenges and use resources responsibly, supporting their development as capable, ethical citizens.
Teaching in Science encourages inquiry, critical evaluation of evidence and informed decision-making. Students are guided to consider the ethical dimensions of scientific progress and reflect on global issues such as climate change, health and sustainability.
Hands-on investigations and real-world applications cultivate creativity, collaboration and problem-solving. Whether analysing data or designing experiments, students are supported to explore their interests and apply their learning in meaningful ways, preparing them for future opportunities in Science and beyond.
