Techniquest (Wednesday 20th November 2019)

The Maths department took 43 Year 7 and Year 8 students to Techniquest, Cardiff Bay on Wednesday 20^th November. Pupils participated in a ‘Mathamagic’ show where they unlocked the magic of algebra, fractions and percentages in a problem solving and puzzling environment.

They all enjoyed time exploring the exhibitions, see pictures below, where they completed challenges against one another using logic and reasoning to break problems down. Three insightful talks inspired and motivated the pupils to think about career aspirations within Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths.

Pupils were perfectly well behaved, well-mannered and museum staff commented that they were a privilege to have and a credit to Abersychan!
