Friends of Abersychan - School PTA

This year the committee have worked hard to raise funds for the school.  We have organised a Christmas Fayre, set up a uniform bank, opened an account with EasyFundraising and provided refreshments at a number of school events.  This invaluable work has helped allow a number of Departments bid for various materials to support teaching and learning in their subject area. 

Every parent is automatically a member of the PTA and your support and help is always needed. Our meetings are informal and we promise to include cakes in our meetings during the next academic year! There are always jobs to be done, whatever skills or contacts you can offer are always appreciated.  Here are some ideas we would like to try, with your help next year:

• Continue to organise the uniform bank in school – Could you spare an hour every term to wash donated uniform and hang it up?

• Become a PTA rep for your son/daughter’s year group – would you be a contact for new parents when their children join the school?

• Donate prizes for raffles – will you speak with local employers and ask them to donate prizes for raffles

• Organise several school events for pupils – could you volunteer to help in a school event?

• Improve the way we communicate with our parents- Do you have good ICT or artistic skills to help us communicate with our parents more regularly through a newsletter, the website and email?
