Duke of Edinburgh (Year 10) - 10th July 2019

On Wednesday 10^th July, Year 10 pupils had the opportunity to practise their navigation skills preparing for their Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Award. The pupils had to navigate through Abergavenny’s rural county side using maps and route cards. All pupils managed to successfully reach the summit of the Sugarloaf mountain, an amazing achievement in the hot conditions carrying large rucksacks. The walk is to prepare the pupils for their assessed expedition which will take place on 25^th and 26^th September in the Brecon Beacons. Massive well done to all the pupils and staff involved.
