Athletics update
On Thursday 6th June Abersychan took a strong Team of athletes to the South East Wales District and County Junior (Year 8 & 9) Championships which were run on the same day for the first time. All students represented the school with distinction in their behaviour and performance. The stand out performer was Nia Rees who won her 800 metres heat by a 30 metres but missed out on qualifying for the National Championships and the opportunity to represent South East Wales as the other heat was quicker. However, still an awesome achievement from Nia who has another year at this level being just in Year 8, hopefully a year of training and she can seize that South East Wales 800 Metre jersey.
