Inter-House Games (Monday 16th April - Thursday 19th April)

This year saw the return of the Inter-House Games for all pupils in Years 7-10. Competitions were held in football, rugby, hockey and netball with each House encouraged to have as many participants as possible. As well as points being awarded based on performance there were also ‘Chwarae Teg’ points up for grabs for those teams showing ‘Fair Play’ and good sportsmanship.

The competition was fierce from the start with pupils making tremendous efforts to win valuable points for their Houses. All of the Houses won events but two Houses began to pull away from the others after two days of competition. As the week drew to a close Branwen and Glyndwr were both vying for top spot but thanks to a strong performance on the last day Branwen were eventually crowned the overall champions!

As well as some excellent individual and team performances, two of the most pleasing aspects were the number of pupils making such an effort for their Houses and the number of teams who gained ‘Chwarae Teg’ awards.

So, Branwen are there to be shot at next year as well as the winners of each individual competition. Well done to all who took part and good luck for next year!
