Duke of Edinburgh - Qualifying Expedition (11 & 12 July 2016)

Pupils from Year 10 who are completing their Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Award accomplished their qualifying expedition this week.

The pupils have been working hard on their navigational and camping skills in preparation for the expedition. The award consists of the pupils completing a two walk carrying all their equipment with an overnight camp. The walk ventured around Llangorse in Brecon and stayed in a campsite not far from the lake. Pupils were assessed on their preparation, knowledge of campcraft and navigational skills.

I am pleased to announce all the pupils who completed the expedition were passed by our assessor, Tim Clarke. Tim commented on how well the pupils behaved and their knowledge on the expedition.

To complete the award pupils need to completed their volunteering, physical and skills sections which should be completed over the summer months. A huge well done to the pupils below who successfully achieved passed their expedition, it was a pleasure to take you!
